About Us….

We are Ron and Sue Bachman. Our small ranch in Central Illinois is named Windmill Creek, mainly due to the fact that we have a creek running through it, and we genuinely like windmills. Our ranch encompasses several different interests.

First off, since our cattle are grass fed, we produce/grow/bale our own hay. There are also pastures that house our Corriente cattle (mamas and babies/plus roping steers), four quarter horses that are used for team roping and trail riding for pleasure.

Ron is a retired counselor and Sue is a retired elementary school teacher. Our hobbies include substitute teaching and flower gardening (Sue), plus team roping, driving the team and giving wagon rides, and raising Corriente cattle (Ron). We are excited to also say that we have built a new barn we call The Cedar Post that is open to the community for small events at no cost. Please check us out!

Windmill Creek is also partnering with Salem4Youth Boy’s Ranch with the use of our donated cattle being an important part of their equine program. To learn more about the ranch and our partnership please check out the link below. It is truly an honor to have a small part in the difference the ranch is making in the lives of these boys!
